True-Crime Author Jillian Lauren Shot by LAPD in Shocking Standoff
Jillian Lauren, the well-known true-crime author and wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, found herself at the center of a shocking and unexpected incident. On Tuesday, in what can only be described as a bizarre and intense standoff, Lauren was shot by Los Angeles police outside her home. The situation escalated rapidly, and she now faces serious allegations, including attempted murder.
A Routine Traffic Incident Turns Into Chaos
The ordeal began in a completely unrelated way—a misdemeanor hit-and-run on the 134 Freeway. Three suspects reportedly fled the accident scene and ran into a residential area in Eagle Rock, a neighborhood in Los Angeles. Police quickly established a perimeter around Waldo Place, attempting to track down the individuals involved. It was at this point that Jillian Lauren, 51, also known as Jillian Shriner, unexpectedly entered the picture.
A Confrontation With Police
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Lauren stepped out of her house armed with a handgun. Officers on the scene immediately ordered her to drop the weapon, but she allegedly refused to comply. The situation took a dramatic turn when, according to police reports, she pointed the gun at officers. In response, police fired, hitting her with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
