Kevin Abstract's Coachella Surprise: New Collab with Lil Nas X!

At Coachella Weekend Two, Kevin Abstract, one of the founding members of Brockhampton and a solo artist, surprised everyone during his solo set on Saturday. He brought out none other than Lil Nas X for a special appearance, and together they dropped a brand-new collab called "Tennessee."

Kevin's setlist was a mix of his newer tracks and some Brockhampton classics. He kicked things off with "Empty" from his 2016 EP *American Boyfriend: A Suburban Love Story.* But the real magic happened when he hinted at a surprise and asked the crowd to get their phones ready to record. This was going to be the very first live performance of his song with Lil Nas X. He hyped up the crowd, saying, "This is the first time I've ever publicly put out a song with the person I'm about to bring out. He means a lot to me and he means a lot to the culture, and I'm very lucky to know him." Then, with some low, bassy synths, Abstract started the track, leading into Lil Nas X's entrance with a burst of energy. The two artists shared a hug as the crowd went wild with cheers.

Earlier in the week, Lil Nas X treated fans to "Lean on My Body," a track that had been teased a couple of years back. He also recently dropped "Light Again" and later "Right There," all on Soundcloud. These tunes seem to be part of an upcoming mixtape called *Nasarti 2.*

As for Brockhampton, they announced an "indefinite hiatus" back in 2022 and released their final albums, *The Family* and *TM*, just a day later in November of the same year. Meanwhile, Kevin Abstract's solo album *Blanket* hit the shelves in November 2023, featuring the song "Running Out." This marked his first solo release since *Arizona Baby* in 2019.
