Taylor Swift's latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," is smashing records left and right since its highly anticipated release. Spotify recently announced that the album has broken several single-day streaming records, with fans eagerly tuning in to listen to Swift's 11th studio album.

In a groundbreaking move, Swift's album became the most streamed album in a single day in Spotify's history. Not only that, but Swift herself also became the most streamed artist in a single day on Spotify. The music service also revealed that the lead track on the album, "Fortnight (feat. Post Malone)," became Spotify’s most streamed song in a single day.

Breaking more records, Spotify shared on social media that "The Tortured Poets Department" became the first album in Spotify's history to surpass 300 million streams in a single day. The album's release was further enhanced by an unexpected drop of 15 additional songs just two hours after its initial release at midnight on April 19.

Despite keeping details about the album under wraps before its release, Swift expressed her excitement during the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards where she won the artist of the year award. She shared, "I'm so proud of it. I cannot wait to share it with you," thanking her fans for their support and hinting at more exciting things to come.

Following the album's release, Swift took to Instagram to describe it as "An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time -- one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure."
