Denver Broncos Stand Firm on Courtland Sutton Trade Interest Amid Draft Picks

During the 2024 NFL draft, Courtland Sutton from the Denver Broncos caught the attention of teams like the Los Angeles Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers. USA TODAY's Jarrett Bailey reported that these teams were keen on trading for Sutton.

However, the Broncos ultimately decided to hold onto Sutton. The trade interest spiked after Sutton skipped the team's voluntary offseason workouts in hopes of securing a better contract. Despite the trade talks, the Broncos are reluctant to part ways with Sutton. They see potential in him and rookie quarterback Bo Nix, believing Nix could be the new Drew Brees to Sutton's Michael Thomas under coach Sean Payton's guidance.

The Broncos' wide receiver room is now packed, especially after adding Troy Franklin in the fourth round and Devaughn Vele in the seventh round of the draft. These newcomers join an already stacked lineup including Marvin Mims, Tim Patrick, Josh Reynolds, Lil’Jordan Humphrey, Jalen Virgil, and Brandon Johnson.

While the Broncos may revisit Sutton trade talks in the future, for now, it seems like he's sticking around. With the draft behind them, Sutton looks set to stay at least through the summer, giving Denver a formidable receiving corps.
