Blanket "Bigi" Jackson recently made headlines by filing court documents in Los Angeles County Superior Court, marking a new chapter in the ongoing legal saga involving the late Michael Jackson's estate. Bigi, alongside his grandmother, Katherine Jackson, finds himself embroiled in a heated dispute that has now reached the courts.
According to court documents obtained by ET, Bigi is challenging his grandmother's request for the estate to cover her attorney fees related to an appeal. He argues that these fees do not benefit the estate and should not be granted. This move comes after a prior court ruling favored the estate's executor's decision regarding an undisclosed business transaction, a decision that Bigi initially opposed.
Despite the slim chances of success on appeal, Katherine is pushing forward and seeking reimbursement for all her attorney fees and costs, a move Bigi opposes. However, he is open to covering her reasonable attorney fees for litigating the executor's petition related to the business transaction.
In his filing, Bigi acknowledges that the proposed transaction was complex and required extensive legal analysis. Still, he questions the need for four lawyers charging high hourly rates, suggesting that the fees may not have been entirely necessary.
Bigi's filing comes on the heels of his public appearance at a Los Angeles movie theater, where he was seen enjoying a night out just one month after celebrating his 22nd birthday. Despite the legal battles, Bigi seems to be maintaining a sense of normalcy in his life.
