Initially, Musk's comment seemed even more pointed, as he referred to an Oscar win as meaning "you were the best Quisling." However, he later revised his statement, calling the Oscars a "woke contest."

He also chimed in on a post discussing diversity, equity, and inclusion rules for the Oscars, agreeing with a user who argued that these initiatives can sometimes detract from recognizing merit and good movies.
