Director Denis Villeneuve, fresh off the success of "Dune: Part Two," is eyeing his next big project. Rumor has it, he's in talks with Legendary to adapt Annie Jacobsen’s gripping Pulitzer Prize finalist, “Nuclear War: A Scenario.” This collaboration comes hot on the heels of Legendary confirming a third installment in the "Dune" saga with Villeneuve at the helm.

Villeneuve, known for his meticulous storytelling, is considering various roles in the "Nuclear War" project, including producing, adapting, and possibly directing. His longtime collaborator Tanya Lapointe is expected to join him on this thrilling venture.

Jacobsen's book, released to critical acclaim on March 26, delves into a chilling hypothetical: what would unfold in a nuclear war, drawing on exclusive interviews with military and civilian experts deeply involved in the creation and implementation of nuclear strategies.

Meanwhile, "Dune: Part Two" continues to dominate the box office, crossing the $630 million mark globally. This highly anticipated sequel, featuring stars like Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, is the year's top-grossing film, building on the success of Villeneuve's first "Dune" installment in 2021, which grossed $402 million worldwide.

Beyond her acclaimed "Nuclear War," Jacobsen is renowned for her other works such as "Area 51," "Operation Paperclip," and "The Pentagon's Brain." She has also left her mark in television as a writer and producer for "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan."

Represented by CAA, both Villeneuve and Jacobsen are poised for more groundbreaking collaborations and projects that promise to captivate audiences worldwide.
