At the Cannes Film Festival, the crowd went wild for George Miller's latest masterpiece, "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," giving it a thunderous six-minute standing ovation. The film, a prequel to "Mad Max: Fury Road," stars Anya Taylor-Joy as the fierce Furiosa, taking over from Charlize Theron. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, it follows Furiosa's journey before the events of "Fury Road," as she faces off against the villainous Warlord Dementus, played by Chris Hemsworth.

Taylor-Joy and Hemsworth were in high spirits at the premiere, charming fans outside the Palais with autographs and selfies. Taylor-Joy's playful antics, like sticking her tongue out at cameras, added to the excitement. Meanwhile, Hemsworth defied the Cannes dress code in a stylish white tuxedo jacket, bringing some Aussie flair to the red carpet.

After the screening, Miller expressed gratitude to the audience for their support, hinting at the hard work put into the film. The atmosphere was electric as the cast basked in the applause, with Taylor-Joy blowing kisses to the camera and Hemsworth visibly moved by the enthusiastic response.

The premiere wasn't the only highlight of the night; the after-party sponsored by Campari provided a chic setting for celebration. Despite the limited food, attendees, including Cannes jury president Greta Gerwig and power agents Bryan Lourd and Kevin Huvane, reveled in the excitement surrounding "Furiosa."

With anticipation building for its theatrical release, Warner Bros. is banking on "Furiosa" to replicate the success of "Fury Road," which grossed $380 million worldwide. With its massive $168 million budget, the pressure is on for "Furiosa" to deliver at the box office. However, with the overwhelming positive reception at Cannes, it looks like this film is poised for success from the get-go.
