Kelly Rowland's 'Today' Show Exit: Behind the Scenes Drama Over Dressing Room Dispute

Kelly Rowland's appearance on the "Today" show hit a snag when she reportedly left the morning talk show due to issues with her dressing room. According to sources, the R&B singer and actress, 43, was set to co-host the fourth hour of "Today With Hoda & Jenna" but left abruptly, leaving Hoda Kotb scrambling to find a replacement.

One source claimed, "Kelly and her team were not happy. They did not like the dressing room, so they decided to pull her off the show, leaving [Kotb] without a guest host for the 10 a.m. hour."

The dressing rooms at "Today" are known for being small and are described as "glorified closets." "They're not nice. It's the oldest building. There are major space limitations, [it's] not glamorous. It's not fresh flowers, and candles and gourmet food. It's basically [a] white box," one source shared.

Rowland's team apparently inquired about using a green room upstairs, but it was already occupied by Jennifer Lopez. Despite "Today" producers offering several alternatives, including multiple talent dressing rooms and larger makeup and hair areas, Rowland's team wasn't satisfied.

The abrupt exit surprised many at "Today," as Rowland is "beloved" at the show. Fortunately, guest Rita Ora stepped in to fill Rowland's spot and was reportedly pleased with a dressing room similar to the one that Rowland found unacceptable.
