Love on Hold: Brooke Burke and Scott Rigsby's Wedding Journey

Brooke Burke and her fiancé, Scott Rigsby, have been engaged since 2021, but they're still waiting for the right moment to tie the knot. Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE at the Malibu Family Fun Fest fundraiser, the couple revealed why their wedding plans are taking longer than expected.

"We had hoped to get married in May, but life got hectic," Burke explained. With school, their kids turning 16, and various family milestones, finding time for wedding planning was tough. "We barely had a moment to breathe, let alone plan the biggest party of our lives," she added.

Rigsby emphasized that they want their wedding to be extra special. "We don't want to rush into it," he said. Despite the delay, Burke feels like they're already married. Their daughters are heavily involved in the planning, which might include a nature-themed ceremony.

"I envision my dress blowing in the wind," Burke shared about her bridal look. The couple shares a blended family, with Burke having four kids and Rigsby having two. They got engaged in 2021 and have been making strides towards their wedding, aiming for a meaningful celebration.

Burke previously hinted at their wedding plans, expressing their commitment to making 2024 their year. "We want it to be meaningful, not just a big show," she said in an interview last October. Designing a wedding that balances grandeur with intimacy is their goal.
