Rhiannon Giddens recently made a stop at Jimmy Kimmel Live, where she delivered a soulful rendition of her bluesy, Cajun-inspired track "You Louisiana Man." Backed by her talented live band, Giddens stole the show with her mesmerizing vocals and banjo skills, captivating the audience with her electrifying performance.

The song is featured on Giddens' latest album, *You're the One*, released in August last year. This album marks her return to the solo scene after a six-year hiatus, offering a collection of all-original tracks. Produced by Jack Splash, the album boasts musical contributions from Giddens' partner, the multi-talented Francesco Turrisi, along with Dirk Powell, Jason Sypher, and Congolese guitarist Niwel Tsumbu. Notably, singer-songwriter Jason Isbell is also featured on a track titled "Yet to Be."

Reflecting on the album, Giddens expressed her desire for listeners to simply experience the rich tapestry of American music. From blues and jazz to Cajun, country, gospel, and rock, Giddens seamlessly weaves these influences together, creating a vibrant and dynamic sound. "They're fun songs, and I wanted them to have as much of a chance as they could to reach people who might dig them but don't know anything about what I do," she shared.

Giddens' musical prowess extends beyond her solo career. She was honored with a Pulitzer Prize in Music for co-writing the opera *Omar* with Michael Abels and is a recipient of the prestigious MacArthur Foundation "Genius Grant." Earlier this year, she contributed a cover of "The Ballad of Sally Anne" to *My Black Country: The Songs of Alice Randall,* a tribute album celebrating the works of songwriter and novelist Alice Randall. The album features a new generation of artists, including Allison Russell and Adia Victoria, interpreting Randall's songs.

Currently, Giddens is thrilling audiences on her tour in support of *You're the One.* Her upcoming performances include appearances at several festivals, such as the New Orleans Heritage & Jazz Festival and the Newport Folk Festival. Recently, Rolling Stone captured her electrifying performance at New York's Beacon Theatre, showcasing her undeniable talent and magnetic stage presence.
