Royal Women's Courage: Duchess of York and Princess Diana's Cancer Journeys

The Duchess of York recently shared her admiration for Princess Diana's openness regarding her cancer diagnosis. Sarah Ferguson, who battled breast cancer last summer and was diagnosed with skin cancer this year, expressed her support for Diana's decision to speak out.

Ferguson, 64, commended Diana's courage in raising awareness, stating, "I know she will be surrounded by the love of her family, and everyone is praying for the best outcome." Ferguson herself underwent treatment for malignant melanoma, a form of skin cancer, discovered during her breast cancer treatment.

King Charles III, who is also battling cancer, praised his daughter-in-law, Catherine, for publicly discussing her cancer diagnosis. He expressed pride in her courage and hoped she would receive the time, space, and privacy needed to heal.

Catherine, 42, recently revealed in a video statement that she is undergoing preventative chemotherapy after cancer was found in tests. While the details of her cancer have not been disclosed, Kensington Palace is optimistic about her full recovery.

Ferguson emphasized the importance of raising awareness about cancer and expressed her support for Catherine, saying, "As someone who has faced their own battles with cancer in recent months, I am full of admiration for the way she has spoken publicly about her diagnosis and know it will do a tremendous amount of good to raise awareness."
