Ice Spice, known for her hit "Think U the S--- (Fart)," is stepping into the acting world with a bang! She's set to make her big-screen debut in a cameo role alongside Denzel Washington in Spike Lee's remake of Akira Kurosawa’s classic crime drama, High and Low. This marks Lee and Washington's fifth collaboration, following their successful ventures with Mo’ Better Blues, Malcolm X, He Got Game, and Inside Man. To celebrate the start of filming, Apple Original Films and A24, co-producers of the project, tweeted a picture of the duo holding up five fingers each, signaling the start of their fifth movie together.
The original High and Low movie revolves around a tense hostage negotiation and an investigation that delves into class dynamics and economic inequality. Many of Lee's films have been launchpads for new talent, with actors like Rosie Perez, Halle Berry, Mekhi Phifer, RuPaul, and others making their debut in his movies. He's also credited with giving early roles to now-prominent actors like Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, and Rosario Dawson.
Aside from her film debut, Ice Spice is set to perform at both weekends of Coachella this month and has lined up several other festival appearances for the summer. Fans can also look forward to her debut album, Y2K, which is expected to drop later this year.
