She told Fox News Digital, “I was banned from the Biden White House for telling the truth when it mattered.” Li contrasted her experience with that of journalist Jake Tapper, who wrote a book called Original Sin exposing some of the administration’s inner workings—but only after Biden was no longer in office. “Jake Tapper had his Eureka moment when there was no risk left. I spoke out while it was still dangerous to do so.”
Her courage came at a cost — from ostracization by former colleagues to being silenced at key events.
The Age Question: Not New, But Never Addressed
Li explained that concerns about Biden’s age had been on her radar for years. She recalled a telling conversation with Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) back in 2022. Duckworth apparently confided to Li that Biden was too old to run again. Yet, just a year later, Li saw Duckworth publicly praising Biden and even stepping up as his campaign co-chair.
“That day was when she decided to become his campaign co-chair,” Li said. “A full year later, he’s not getting any younger.”
Duckworth did not respond to requests for comment on this.

Li’s willingness to question the party line made her a target. She spoke out quietly but firmly, asking senior DNC officials — including former chair Jaime Harrison and current chair Ken Martin — whether maybe Biden should reconsider running for re-election given his age.
She said, “I wasn’t attacking anyone. I just asked if maybe he should step down, in the nicest way possible.” Instead of dialogue, she faced cold shoulders and accusations.
“To be treated like a complete criminal was just jarring,” Li admitted.
The DNC ignored multiple requests to comment on these allegations. Yet Li claims the party had very specific talking points for members: to deny any real concerns and project unwavering confidence in Biden.

One of the most striking parts of Li’s story was her description of the elaborate efforts to control the narrative. She called it a “left-wing massive conspiracy,” involving the White House, the DNC, and a network of paid influencers.
“Don’t tell me they didn’t have influencers on their payroll because they literally paid me,” she revealed.

When Special Counsel Robert Hur decided not to pursue criminal charges in Biden’s classified documents case, citing Biden as “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” Li said the DNC immediately launched a campaign to discredit Hur.
“They told me to ‘tar and feather’ his character,” Li said. “We were supposed to say Biden was a genius behind closed doors, and with age comes wisdom. We were basically told to assassinate Hur’s character.”
The Fallout From the Debate
After Biden’s poor debate showing that many say sealed his political fate, the damage control went into overdrive. Li described the emotional atmosphere backstage and among campaign staffers.
“Jen O’Malley Dillon did a damage control briefing that morning,” she said. “People were misty-eyed. The night before, folks were crying on the shuttle home because they were so devastated by the debate.”
Despite the disaster, Biden’s campaign chairs, O’Malley Dillon and Julie Rodriguez, insisted that dropping out wasn’t an option — arguing it was financially and legally impossible due to campaign finance regulations. History, however, paints a different picture about how campaigns can and have been halted in the past.

Li also shared how she faced restrictions even on social media. At a DNC Winter Meeting event in February, she hosted Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. But her phone was confiscated, and she was warned not to post anything on social platforms.
When she posted an Instagram story showing Biden at a separate dinner, she said the DNC called her “in a fit of fury” demanding she take it down immediately. For a young member like Li, it felt especially isolating.
