New York AG Ready to Seize Trump's Assets Over Fraud Fine

Letitia James, the New York State Attorney General, announced her readiness to seize Donald Trump's assets, including his iconic skyscrapers, if he fails to cough up a $355 million fine stemming from his fraud trial. A New York judge recently ruled that Trump, the former Republican president and a leading contender for his party's presidential nomination, must pay the fine for repeatedly and persistently committing fraud. He inflated his net worth by up to $3.6 billion annually to secure better loan terms.

"If he does not have funds to pay off the judgment, then we will seek judgment enforcement mechanisms in court, and we will ask the judge to seize his assets," James stated.

Trump, who vehemently denies any wrongdoing, is appealing the fine and has accused James, a Democrat, of being biased against him.

Trump's appeal may hinge on his argument that there were no actual victims of his conduct. However, James remains confident in her case, emphasizing that "financial frauds are not victimless crimes."

"He engaged in this massive amount of fraud. It wasn't just a simple mistake or a slight oversight; the variations were wildly exaggerated, and the extent of the fraud was staggering," James asserted in an interview.
