Brad Wing's Heroics Highlight UFL Season Opener with San Antonio Brahmas

The United Football League (UFL) debuted its first season with a bang, showcasing former New York Giants players, including punter Brad Wing, who now represents the San Antonio Brahmas. One highlight of the action-packed weekend was a game against the DC Defenders, where the Brahmas pulled off a jaw-dropping play.

In a move orchestrated by head coach Wade Phillips, Brad Wing surprised everyone with his passing skills. Despite being a punter, Wing showed off his arm by completing a remarkable 40-yard pass to offensive lineman Alex Mollette, who then powered through a tackle to score.

Reflecting on the play, Wing humorously remarked, "There's supposed to be one, one route, and that was not the one." This play was a standout moment in Wing's professional career, only his second pass attempt since 2014, when he was with the Pittsburgh Steelers (the first attempt was intercepted).

Wing's football journey began in 2013 as an undrafted free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles, followed by a stint with the Steelers before landing with the Giants in 2015. Despite being released by the Giants in 2018, Wing's passion for the game led him to the AAF and XFL, before briefly rejoining the NFL (Steelers) in 2023.

This thrilling play by Brad Wing is a testament to his resilience and adaptability, showcasing the unexpected twists that make UFL football so exhilarating.
