"He's out there playing, but he's nowhere near 100%," Nurse explained. "He's dealing with a bunch of stuff, trying to manage it all. But I'm encouraged. I believe he can definitely play better."
Nurse and the 76ers are particularly impressed with Martin's effort and attitude. His relentless hustle and positive impact on the locker room are evident. Once he fully recovers from his injuries and settles into a defined role, the team expects his shooting and overall production to improve.
"He gives it his all, he's a great teammate, and he's always studying the game," Nurse added. "I think it's just a matter of time before he feels better physically and we figure out the best way to utilize him."
