The Chicago Bears have officially signed offensive tackle Kiran Amegadjie to a four-year rookie contract, the team announced on Tuesday. This deal, valued at $5.914 million, includes a $1.121 million signing bonus.
Chicago selected Amegadjie in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. General Manager Ryan Poles expressed his excitement about Amegadjie's potential, saying, "You love the tools that he has. His pass protection is really good. Love his length and hand usage. And a big man that we believe is going to continue to get bigger and more explosive, so it should really increase the competition on our offensive line and make everyone better."
Amegadjie is the second member of Chicago's five-player 2024 draft class to sign his rookie contract, following punter Tory Taylor, who inked his deal during rookie minicamp.
Amegadjie underwent surgery last October to repair a partially torn quad suffered during his 2023 season at Yale. As a result, the Bears have indicated that he won't be participating in offseason workouts. Although Amegadjie mentioned that he feels good, there's no definitive timetable for his return.
