Denver Broncos' Draft Watch: Pratt Emerges as Mid-Round QB Prospect

Written by Published

Heading into the 2024 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos are really honing in on quarterbacks, keeping a keen eye on potential prospects.

At Tulane's pro day, Denver was one of just five teams to send a position coach, Keary Colbert, their wide receivers coach. Seems like they're particularly interested in checking out Jha'Quan Jackson, the Green Wave's wide receiver, but they're also giving Pratt a good look.

Pratt, a 6-2, 216-pound quarterback from Tulane, has caught Denver's attention after solid performances in various events leading up to the draft. He's got some impressive stats too - completing over 60% of his passes for over 9,000 yards and 90 touchdowns in his college career. That's nothing to sneeze at!

It's not just a casual interest either; the Broncos have been keeping tabs on Pratt for a while now. They met him multiple times at the Senior Bowl and caught up with him again at the NFL combine earlier this year.

What's interesting is that Denver's head coach, Sean Payton, has some connections to Tulane's coaching staff. So, you can bet he's getting some insider info on Pratt. And get this, Pratt himself has been studying Drew Brees' game - now, that's a name that rings a bell for Payton, for sure!

Now, if the Broncos miss out on snagging one of the top QB prospects, Pratt might just be their guy in the mid-rounds. Word on the street is that most mock drafts have him going in the fourth round, which lines up nicely with Denver's pick at No. 121.

Keep your eyes peeled, folks, because the 2024 NFL draft is just around the corner, set to kick off in Detroit from April 25-27. And who knows, Pratt might just find himself in the Mile High City when all is said and done!
