Dodgers Dominate Diamondbacks 8-4 in Offensive Showcase

When the Diamondbacks faced the Dodgers in October, their pitchers were on fire, holding down one of baseball’s more dangerous offenses. However, in the first game against the Dodgers this season, the Diamondbacks couldn't pull off the same magic.

The Dodgers, with their powerhouse lineup, dominated the Diamondbacks, cruising to an 8-4 victory on Monday night at Chase Field. They racked up 10 hits and eight walks, incredibly without striking out once—making it just the third time in Diamondbacks history that they've failed to record a single strikeout.

In a tough outing, left-hander Tommy Henry struggled through four innings, giving up two runs. Lefty Andrew Saalfrank also had a rough time, struggling to find the strike zone and allowing four runs. The Dodgers continued to pour it on, adding two more runs against reliever Logan Allen.

Excitement peaked in the fifth inning when Teoscar Hernandez and Andy Pages both delivered two-run doubles, contributing to the Dodgers' four-run inning. Adding to the spectacle, Will Smith crushed a homer off the batter’s eye in center field. Shohei Ohtani also made a splash in his first game at Chase Field as a Dodger, collecting a pair of singles and a walk.

Despite a brief rally in the fifth inning, where the Diamondbacks managed to score three times and narrow the gap to 6-4, they could only muster one hit over the final four innings.

This loss marked the Diamondbacks’ ninth defeat in their past 14 games, bringing their record to 13-17 after 30 games.
