What a whirlwind year it's been for the Houston Texans!
Just a season ago, they were shuffling coaches like a deck of cards, and their record wasn't much to write home about either - just three wins to their name. But now, they're the talk of the town, sitting pretty at the top of the AFC contender rankings as they gear up for offseason action.
Houston didn't just sit back and watch the grass grow, though. Nope, they went out and made some big moves. Think snagging Danielle Hunter and Azeez Al-Shaair. Plus, they shook things up in the draft, swapping picks left and right to snag talents like Joe Mixon and Stefon Diggs.
Now, with the NFL draft peeking around the corner, everyone's got their eyes on who's going where. According to NFL.com's Chad Reuter, the Texans are holding nine picks, with some juicy selections lined up in Round 2 and Round 4.
Reuter's got his picks for who'd be perfect for the Texans. Cam Hart out of Notre Dame gets the nod first, followed by Edgerrin Cooper from Texas A&M. And let me tell you, these guys bring some serious game to the table.
Hart's got the makings of a star cornerback, standing tall at 6-foot-3, with a wingspan that could practically block out the sun. Plus, he's got the stats to back it up, with a sweet passer rating when he's the target and a knack for finding the end zone.
Cooper, on the other hand, is a linebacker with wheels. He's fast, like "blink and you'll miss him" fast, and he's not afraid to lay down the law on the field. Plus, coming from the SEC, he's already used to the big leagues.
But why bring in Cooper when you've already got Christian Harris tearing it up? Well, it's all about that versatility. With injuries and some shaky play, the Texans found themselves relying heavily on nickel coverage, leaving some gaps in the defense. Cooper's here to fill those holes and then some.
And let's not forget about Nick Caserio, the mastermind behind the Texans' draft success. He's been pulling out gems left and right, and with one more killer draft, who knows? The Texans might just find themselves rubbing elbows with the big dogs of the league.
