Jordan Morgan: The Packers' Versatile Rookie Tackle

Written by Published

Check out the Packers' new rookie, Jordan Morgan. He's stoked about the chance to explore different spots on the field and is totally down to fill in wherever the team needs him. But hey, his heart's set on holding down the left tackle spot, which he's owned for five solid years back at Arizona.

"I'm all about that left tackle life, you know? Been grinding there forever, so I'm itching to unleash my skills there. But hey, I'm game for anything," Morgan told Larry McCarren of Packers.com.

This dude Morgan, snagged 25th overall, rocked 37 starts and nearly 2,500 snaps at left tackle. The Pack's even giving him some reps there in rookie minicamp, so you know they're feeling him for the spot.

Some folks thought Morgan might shift inside at the next level 'cause he's not the longest dude around, arm-wise. But check it, Dane Brugler from The Athletic had him as the second-best guard prospect. Dude's got moves, so length ain't gonna hold him back on the outside.

GM Brian Gutekunst sees Morgan as a Swiss Army knife of sorts, ready to plug in at tackle or guard on either side of the line.

But hold up, it's not gonna be a cakewalk. Rasheed Walker, who crushed it last year, could give Morgan a run for his money at left tackle. And if that doesn't pan out, there's a spot at right guard up for grabs too, with Sean Rhyan as the current frontrunner. Morgan's gotta prove he's top five material on the O-line and make the coaches sit up and take notice.

"Imma soak up all the knowledge, play wherever they need me, and get my toolbox stacked," Morgan said.
