The Denver Broncos recently sat down for a chat with Trevin Wallace, the Kentucky linebacker, during the NFL combine. Tom Downey from Chat Sports reported this juicy nugget.
Wallace, standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 237 pounds, put on quite a show at the combine. He blazed through the 40-yard dash in just 4.51 seconds and zipped through the 10-yard shuttle in a quick 1.62 seconds. During his time with the Wildcats, Wallace racked up an impressive 166 tackles, with 18 of those being behind the line of scrimmage. He also notched 10 sacks, three interceptions, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in 35 games. Last fall was particularly outstanding for Wallace, as he had 80 tackles, 8.5 behind the line, 5.5 sacks, one interception, and one forced fumble.
Experts are buzzing about Wallace, pegging him as a likely fifth-round pick in the upcoming draft. Lucky for the Broncos, they hold three picks in the fifth round—numbers 136, 145, and 147. While the Broncos added Cody Barton to the roster after losing Josey Jewell, they could use more linebacker depth.
Should Wallace join the Broncos, he'd probably be in the mix for a backup spot, rotating in at linebacker and possibly shining on special teams.
