Rhys Hoskins Returns: Brewers vs. White Sox Series Kickoff at American Family Field

Written by Published

The Milwaukee Brewers are set for an exciting interleague showdown as they host the Chicago White Sox for a three-game series at American Family Field. Here’s what fans can look forward to:

Brewers Welcome Rhys Hoskins Back

The big news for Milwaukee is the return of Rhys Hoskins. After missing 15 games due to a right hamstring strain, Hoskins is back in action. He’s not just back, but he's in the starting lineup, batting sixth and taking on the role of designated hitter.

Friday Night Pitching Matchup

On the mound for Milwaukee is right-hander Tobias Myers, who’s currently 1-2 with a 4.43 ERA. He’ll be up against Chicago’s Erick Fedde, who boasts a solid 4-1 record with a 2.80 ERA. The game kicks off at 7:10 p.m. and will be broadcasted on Bally Sports Wisconsin and AM-620 radio.

Brewers Offense Highlights and Struggles

The Brewers got off to a promising start with four of their first eight batters collecting hits off Fedde, but it only translated to one run. Sal Frelick singled and Joey Ortiz doubled him in to score Milwaukee’s sole run in the second inning. Despite consecutive singles by Brice Turang and William Contreras opening the first inning, the Brewers couldn’t capitalize, leaving the bases loaded as Jake Bauers and Rhys Hoskins struck out.

Myers' Rocky Third Inning

The third inning was particularly tough for Tobias Myers. Chicago’s Paul DeJong tied the game with a solo homer off an 0-2 pitch. Things got worse when Myers hit Danny Mendick, who then advanced to second on a Tommy Pham single. Both Mendick and Pham scored on a Corey Julks double, putting the White Sox ahead 3-1.
