Super Bowl Injury Report: Latest Updates on Eagles & Chiefs Key Players

Written by Published

With the Super Bowl just around the corner, all eyes are on the injury reports from both the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. Wednesday's updates have brought some clarity on where key players stand, but there are still a few question marks heading into next Sunday's showdown for the Lombardi Trophy.

Eagles’ Injury Report: Who’s In, Who’s Out?

The Philadelphia Eagles are dealing with a few bumps and bruises, but the good news is that several players were able to fully participate in practice. However, a handful of stars are still facing some uncertainty.

  • Defensive tackle Jalen Carter (illness), running back Kenneth Gainwell (concussion), defensive end Brandon Graham (elbow), and wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) were limited participants in practice. This means they were active but not at full capacity.

  • On the brighter side, Zack Baun (groin), Britain Covey (neck), Landon Dickerson (knee), Dallas Goedert (ankle), Cam Jurgens (back), and C.J. Uzomah (abdomen) were all full participants—a great sign for their availability come game day.

  • Gainwell, Covey, Graham, and Uzomah are all still listed as questionable, leaving some suspense before the team departs for New Orleans. The Eagles will be keeping a close eye on their recovery in the next few days.

Chiefs’ Update: Mahomes Still on the Report, But Is It a Concern?

Meanwhile, over in Kansas City, the Chiefs have a mostly clean bill of health, but one name that keeps showing up is quarterback Patrick Mahomes. While Mahomes has been dealing with an ankle injury since Week 16, he has yet to miss a single game or even a full practice session.

  • Mahomes first sprained his right ankle against the Cleveland Browns on December 15, and his name has appeared on every injury report since. However, he has been a full participant throughout the postseason, showing that the injury isn’t slowing him down.

  • The only player who was limited in practice for Kansas City on Wednesday was wide receiver Skyy Moore (abdomen). Every other key player, including offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor (knee), was a full go.

What This Means for Super Bowl Sunday

As we inch closer to the big game, these injury reports give fans, coaches, and analysts plenty to discuss. For the Eagles, the biggest concerns are DeVonta Smith’s hamstring issue and Kenneth Gainwell’s concussion—two players who can make a significant impact on offense. Meanwhile, Kansas City seems to have a relatively healthy roster outside of Skyy Moore’s limited status and Mahomes’ lingering ankle issue, which hasn’t held him back.

Both teams will continue to monitor their rosters closely, and final game-time decisions could shake things up. With Super Bowl Sunday fast approaching, the health of these key players could very well determine who takes home the championship!

Stay tuned for further updates as we get closer to kickoff!
