Titans' Will Levis Shines and Rookies Learn in High-Energy OTAs

During Tuesday’s 7-on-7 red zone drills, Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis kicked off the action by throwing the opening touchdown. In a burst of energy and competitive spirit, he celebrated by punting the ball into a nearby lake.

The punt was a highlight of the day, fueled by the intense trash talk and high energy from players on both sides of the ball. Organized team activities (OTAs) are crucial for younger players, offering them a chance to impress their teammates and coaches. It's their opportunity to refine their skills and fight for a spot on the final 53-man roster.

However, with new Titans coach Brian Callahan, the focus isn’t on achieving perfection right away. They aim for consistent progress. "Every day it’s been progress," said safeties coach Steve Jackson. "None of (the players) are perfect, but they’ve been progressing every single day."

Levis kept the momentum going with a few more complete passes and touchdowns, but the defense had its moment too. Rookie cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. intercepted the second-year quarterback, drawing laughs and cheers from his teammates.

Brownlee’s day was a rollercoaster. Shortly after his pick six, he was caught off guard by receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine’s double move and allowed a touchdown. This mistake earned him some pushups, a reminder that every play is a learning experience.

Reflecting on the touchdown, Brownlee admitted his "eyes were in the wrong place," but saw it as a valuable lesson. His coaches are keen on players learning from such moments. "Guys put a lot of pressure on themselves trying to be perfect with everything that they do but it’s not a perfect game," Jackson said. "You want to grow every single time you get out there, whether you make a mistake or whether you make a play."
