Abington Man Wins $1 Million Lottery, Plans Big Upgrades and Investments

An Abington resident is celebrating a life-changing lottery win and already has big plans for the future. After scratching his way to a $1 million prize, David Skillings says the win opens the door to long-awaited upgrades and smart financial moves.

Skillings hit it big playing the “100X” scratch ticket game from the Massachusetts State Lottery. He chose the cash option, walking away with a one-time payout of $650,000 before taxes.

Rather than splurging all at once, Skillings says he’s thinking ahead. His plans include:

  • 🚗 Buying a new car

  • 🏡 Making home improvements

  • 💼 Putting money into investments

The lucky ticket was purchased at Your Convenience Store on Brockton Avenue in Abington. As a bonus for selling the winning ticket, the store will receive $10,000 from the lottery.

For Skillings, the win isn’t just about the money — it’s about creating stability, comfort, and new opportunities for the years ahead.
