On Saturday, there was a bit of a rough landing for an American Airlines flight at Kahului Airport in Hawaii, leaving one passenger and five flight attendants with injuries.

According to American Airlines, their flight 271 from Los Angeles (LAX) to Maui (OGG) faced some trouble when landing at OGG. The good news is that the plane managed to taxi to the gate on its own, and everyone got off like usual.

Six folks who got injured were taken to the hospital but got released later on. Just so you know, there were 167 passengers and seven crew members on that flight.

American Airlines took the plane out of service for a thorough check by their maintenance team, emphasizing that they always put safety first for both customers and team members.

Hawaii's transportation department confirmed to CNN that, yep, the airline did have a hard landing at the airport on Saturday afternoon.

Now, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is on the case. They've announced that they're going to look into this hard landing of American Airlines Flight 271, an Airbus A320, on Runway 20 at Kahului Airport around 2 p.m. local time. If you want to know more about passengers, the FAA suggests getting in touch with the airline directly. They're taking the investigation from here.
