MLB Draft Lottery & Offseason Buzz

The 2026 MLB Draft Lottery wrapped up on Tuesday evening, and the Atlanta Braves didn’t get the break they hoped for. With the sixth-best odds going in, they slipped a bit and will now hold the ninth overall pick.

Leading the way in the draft are:

  • Chicago White Sox – 1st pick

  • Tampa Bay Rays – 2nd pick

  • Minnesota Twins – 3rd pick

Rumor has it the Braves are eyeing utility player Willi Castro, who’s also attracting attention from the Rockies and Pirates. But the main offseason focus? Pitching, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney.

Meanwhile, Braves insiders are buzzing about lineup tweaks. Mark Bowman reported that Walt Weiss might move Ronald Acuña Jr. back to the leadoff spot, which could shake things up for Atlanta’s offense.
