Didn't get a ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final? No worries. Soccer fans across New York will still have a chance to experience the excitement in a big way.

The NY/NJ FIFA World Cup Host Committee has announced a massive free watch party on the Great Lawn in Central Park, giving tens of thousands of fans the opportunity to watch the championship match together on July 19, 2026.

What to Expect at the Event

Officials say the celebration will feature:

  • Giant LED screens showing the match live
  • Immersive stadium-style sound
  • Food and drink vendors
  • Live appearances from New York City DJs
  • A crowd of more than 50,000 soccer fans

Doors will open at 12:00 p.m., while the FIFA World Cup Final is scheduled to kick off at 3:00 p.m.

The announcement was made by Governor Kathy Hochul, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, and Alex Lasry, CEO of the NY/NJ FIFA World Cup Host Committee.

How to Get Free Tickets

While admission is free, fans must enter a lottery for tickets.

The ticket lottery, managed by Global Citizen, opens on June 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and closes on July 16, 2026.

Fans can sign up for a chance to attend, with officials reserving 20% of all tickets for youth soccer programs, nonprofit organizations, and community groups.

World Cup Matches Coming to MetLife Stadium

The New York-New Jersey region will play a major role in the tournament, with MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford hosting eight matches, including the championship game.

  • June 16, 2026: France vs. Senegal – 3:00 p.m.
  • June 22, 2026: Norway vs. Senegal – 8:00 p.m.

  • June 27, 2026: Panama vs. England – 5:00 p.m.
  • June 30, 2026: Round of 32 – 5:00 p.m.
  • July 5, 2026: Round of 16 – 4:00 p.m.
  • July 19, 2026: FIFA World Cup Final – 3:00 p.m.

Even fans without match tickets will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the tournament atmosphere. New York City and communities throughout the Lower Hudson Valley are planning free fan events, public watch parties, and entertainment activities during the World Cup.

Visitors can also check out the FIFA Fan Festival and Fan Village at Rockefeller Center, where they'll be able to watch games, enjoy live entertainment, and shop for official tournament merchandise.
