A lucky Illinois Lottery player just hit it big, winning $1 million on a Jumbo Bucks scratch-off ticket bought in Chicago.

The winning ticket came from P&S Liquor, at 7319 Irving Park Road on the Northwest Side. The store will also receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the lucky ticket.

"It's all so unbelievable!" said the anonymous winner, who goes by 'Papa'. "I didn’t even realize it was a winner until I scanned it at the store to double-check. When the prize popped up, I turned as white as a ghost! I tucked the ticket in my coat and sprinted home."

Once home, he shared the exciting news with his wife. "I told her, 'We just won $1 million!'" Papa laughed. "She couldn’t believe it. She just stared at me wide-eyed and kept saying, 'What? Are you sure?'"

Both Papa and his wife are retired, and they’re already planning how to enjoy their newfound fortune. They want to support their family and take a long-awaited trip abroad.

"I've never been to Europe," Papa said. "Our families are Irish and Italian, so you better believe we’re going overseas for a nice vacation!"

From an unexpected store visit to planning a dream getaway, this Chicago couple is proof that life-changing moments can happen in the blink of an eye.
