The Browns made some exciting moves, confirming two signings and re-signing a key player for the upcoming season. Quinton Jefferson, a seasoned defensive lineman, joins the team after a stint with the Jets in 2023, bringing nine years of experience since being drafted by the Seahawks in 2016. With 24.5 career sacks, including six last season, Jefferson adds a dynamic edge to the Browns' defensive line, capable of playing both inside and out, a versatility that Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz values highly.

Another valuable addition is cornerback Tony Brown, a seven-year veteran from Alabama known for his prowess on special teams, having played over 70% of special teams snaps in Indianapolis, where he was a core player under current Browns special teams coordinator Bubba Ventrone. Brown, an undrafted free agent, has also contributed to teams like Green Bay and Cincinnati, showcasing his reliability and skill in various roles.

In addition to these signings, the Browns secured the return of wide receiver James Proche, who proved himself as a reliable punt returner last season, averaging nine yards per return in the final 10 games. His return adds depth and experience to the team's receiving corps and special teams unit.

These moves come as the Browns bid farewell to cornerback and special teams standout Mike Ford Jr., who has moved on to the Texans. To further bolster their special teams, the Browns also brought in running back Nyheim Hines, known for his effectiveness as a returner, particularly during his time in Indianapolis under Ventrone's guidance.
