A lucky player in Colorado scored a $200,000 prize in the Colorado Lottery’s Cash 5 drawing on Monday night after matching all five winning numbers.

The winning ticket was purchased at a Murphy USA gas station located at 3905 E. 120th Avenue near Colorado Boulevard in Thornton, according to the Colorado Lottery.

The winning numbers for Monday night’s drawing were 3, 5, 8, 11, and 15.

Playing Multiple Times Boosted the Prize

The winner used a strategy that turned a $20,000 prize into a much bigger payday. By playing the selected numbers 10 times, the player increased the total winnings to $200,000, the maximum prize available in the Cash 5 game.

The Colorado Lottery typically sees around six winners of the $20,000 prize each month. Since Cash 5 began, this marks the seventh time a drawing has had 10 or more winners sharing the $200,000 prize equally, lottery officials said.

Winner Has 180 Days to Claim the Prize

The lucky ticket holder must claim the $200,000 prize within 180 days of Monday’s drawing.
