Dino Creador won the seven-figure prize by playing the “$4,000,000 Extreme Cash” scratch ticket. Rather than taking the full prize over time, Creador selected the cash option and received a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes.
He already has plans for the money: buying a house.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Shell, located at 815 New Boston Road in Fall River. The retailer will also get a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
A Rare Winning Chance
The odds of hitting the game's $4 million top prize are 1 in 5,040,000. Only two top-prize tickets were distributed statewide, and Creador's ticket is one of them. One $4 million prize remains unclaimed.
Massachusetts has seen an even bigger lottery prize claimed this year. The state's largest prize so far was $25 million, won on a “$25,000,000 Mega Money” ticket sold at a Cumberland Farms gas station in Turners Falls, one of the five villages in Montague.
