A quick stop for lottery tickets turned into a life-changing moment for one Maryland man—and it all started with a modest win.
On April 23, the Frederick resident picked up a scratch-off ticket and landed a $200 prize. Instead of cashing out and calling it a day, he decided to take a chance and reinvest his winnings.
That bold move paid off—big time.
He used the $200 to grab another $100,000 Ca$h scratch-off, along with a few other games, at a local gas station. One of those tickets hit the jackpot, scoring him the top prize of $100,000.
“I almost missed it,” he said. “I scanned the ticket, swiped the message away, then paused—wait, what did I just see?”
This wasn’t his first lucky break either. Back in 2017, he won $50,000 playing Bonus Match 5, which he used to complete his Master’s degree—a move that clearly paid off in more ways than one.
Now, with his latest win, he’s keeping things practical:
