A lucky lottery player in Kilgore, Texas, is celebrating a $1 million scratch-off win after purchasing a ticket at a local gas station, the Texas Lottery announced Wednesday.
The East Texas winner bought the winning ticket at a Murphy USA gas station at 1209 Southport Road in Kilgore. The winner has chosen to remain anonymous.
The retailer could also benefit from the big win. Under the Texas Lottery's retailer bonus program, the gas station may qualify for an additional $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The winning ticket came from a millionaire scratch-off game featuring more than $9 million in total prizes. The game offers four top prizes worth $1 million each, making the Kilgore winner one of the lucky players to claim the game's biggest prize.
