A Leominster woman is celebrating a $500,000 lottery win after hitting the top prize on a Massachusetts State Lottery scratch ticket.

Angela Tarr won the grand prize in the “$500,000 Frenzy” instant game. Instead of taking the prize as an annuity, she chose the cash option and received a one-time payment of $355,000 before taxes.

Tarr bought the lucky ticket at Family Farms on Merriam Avenue in Leominster. The retailer will also get a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

She said she plans to use the money to help her family and build up her savings.

A few key details:

  • 🎉 Top prize: $500,000
  • 💵 Cash payout: $355,000 before taxes
  • 🏪 Winning ticket sold at: Family Farms, Leominster
