Rene L. and Brittany C., a couple from Lillooet, B.C., won $2.5 million in the Lotto Max draw on January 31, 2026. They shared the $5-million Classic Jackpot with another winning ticket from Quebec, as both matched all six numbers, according to PlayNow.com.
The moment they realized they’d won? Priceless.
“My first thought was, ‘No!’” Rene recalled. “Then I jumped up and showed Brittany.” At first, Brittany thought it was a prank. She even suggested they run to the store to check if the ticket was real.
They went back to the Pharmasave on Main Street in Lillooet, where the ticket was bought, to verify the win. Once it was confirmed, the excitement really set in. “It feels unreal,” Brittany said, describing the thrill of winning such a life-changing prize.
The couple has shared the exciting news with close family and friends and marked the occasion with a special dinner for just the two of them.
