Michigan players struck it big last month, even if the state missed out on Powerball’s massive $1.79 billion jackpot in September. While no one in Michigan claimed that historic prize, plenty of luck was still flowing through the Wolverine State.
Ten Michigan Lottery players took home prizes of $100,000 or more playing Powerball in September, according to the Michigan Lottery. Detroit was home to one of the biggest wins: a $2 million ticket claimed on September 3. Another $2 million ticket was also claimed in the state last month.
Sterling Heights and Grosse Pointe weren’t far behind. Players in both cities snagged $1 million each on their Powerball tickets. Meanwhile, three other tickets in Michigan scored $150,000, and four more brought home $100,000 each—proof that even outside the mega-jackpot, the game still delivers major excitement.
The thrills weren’t limited to Powerball. Michigan’s 100X instant game delivered another top prize last month. A lucky ticket sold at Flecks Fresh Marts in Canton secured a significant win, showing that scratch-offs can pay off big too.
From multi-million-dollar Powerball wins to instant game surprises, September was a month of celebration for Michigan lottery players. Even if the billion-dollar jackpot slipped away, local winners proved that big prizes can hit closer to home.
