Man, did you hear about that horse in Brazil? Caramelo, they called him. Dude got stuck on a rooftop during those crazy floods they had down there. I mean, talk about wild!
It took a whole team of firefighters and vets to get him down. They had to sedate him and then carefully move him onto this inflatable raft. Imagine trying to move a 770-pound horse like that! But they did it, man. They even had helicopters filming the whole thing live on TV. And get this, some big shot social media influencer with like 17 million followers was giving updates as it happened.
After they rescued him, everyone was cheering. Even the president's wife was whispering the good news in his ear at some official event. Can you picture that? And the governor was all over social media, saying stuff like, "All lives matter, we stand firm!" It was a whole big deal, man.
So, Caramelo is chilling now at a vet hospital, getting all the care he needs. The poor guy was dehydrated when they found him, but he's getting better. Turns out he's about 7 years old and probably used to pull carts, according to one of the vets. And get this, he's super gentle, which made it easier to give him sedatives.
But Caramelo's just one of many animals they've been rescuing lately. I heard they've saved like 10,000 animals since last week! That's insane, right? There's been all these videos going around of pets reuniting with their owners, too. Like, there was this one video of a dude crying and hugging his dogs after they got rescued. It's enough to make you tear up, man.
And it's not just the animals, you know? The floods down there have been devastating. Over 100 people have died, and thousands are displaced. But seeing Caramelo make it out okay gives people hope, you know? Like, if they can rescue a horse, why not all the other animals still out there? People are coming together to help, organizing shelters and donating supplies. It's pretty inspiring, man.
