Two teachers from the Youngstown and Warren areas are among 20 educators across Ohio selected to receive up to $1,000 worth of classroom supplies through the Ohio Lottery's Giving Back Program.
The local recipients are:
-
Karen Engel – Rayen Early College Middle School, Youngstown.
-
Stephanie Cox – Warren G. Harding High School, Warren.
The Ohio Lottery will purchase items directly from the teachers' wish lists, helping them get the materials they need to support their students and improve classroom learning.
The Teacher Wish List initiative is designed to provide Ohio educators with valuable classroom resources while making a direct investment in students' education.
Molly Fanta, the Ohio Lottery's Giving Back Coordinator, said teachers play an important role in shaping the state's future. She added that giving educators the resources they need helps students succeed and benefits communities across Ohio.
Unlike traditional lottery promotions, the Giving Back Program does not require teachers to submit formal entries. Instead, the Ohio Lottery selects deserving teachers, students, and schools using eligible lists provided by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and the State Board of Education.
