Ontario Mom Celebrates 37th Wedding Anniversary With $100,000 Lottery Surprise

A wedding anniversary turned into an unforgettable celebration for one Ontario woman after she scored a $100,000 lottery prize.

Petawawa resident Cathy D. matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in the exact order during the June 10, 2026, Lotto 6/49 draw, earning a life-changing payout. Even more special, she discovered the win on her 37th wedding anniversary.

While visiting the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her prize, Cathy said she always includes Encore with her lottery tickets.

When she checked her ticket using the OLG mobile app, she was convinced something was wrong.

"I always add Encore to my tickets. When I checked my ticket on the app, I thought it was broken because I couldn't believe what I was seeing," she said.

The retired mother of five and grandmother of 14 described the experience as both amazing and overwhelming. She plans to celebrate by taking a well-earned vacation while also putting money aside for the future.

Winning Highlights:

  • 🎉 Won $100,000 on her 37th wedding anniversary.
  • 🎟️ Matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order.
  • ✈️ Plans to travel and save for the future.

Cathy purchased her lucky ticket at Becker's on Petawawa Boulevard in Petawawa.

With moving boxes still waiting, she took a break the very next day to collect her million-dollar prize before settling into her new home.
