A $2 online lottery play turned into a massive $416,405 payday for a Plymouth man.
Robert Cheetham scored the prize on September 13, 2026, while playing “Timber Wolf,” an online-only eInstant game offered through Mass Lottery Online.
Cheetham recently claimed his winnings at the Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester. The prize amount is before taxes.
He said he plans to use the unexpected windfall for several family priorities, including:
- Retirement savings
- His daughter’s wedding
- Gifts for family members
Massachusetts requires online lottery winners who receive $50,000 or more to claim their prizes in person at the Dorchester headquarters.
To play Mass Lottery games online, players must be at least 21 years old and physically located in Massachusetts when playing and when making an account deposit. Players also need a Mass Lottery Player Account, which can be created online or through the official mobile app.
