Lottery fever is in full swing, and the stakes just keep climbing. A massive $570 million Powerball jackpot is up for grabs this Monday night, with a cash option of $266.9 million. All it takes is a $2 ticket — and as the saying goes, it could happen to you.
This Powerball run has been rolling since Sept. 8, after the $1.787 billion win split between Texas and Missouri. Since then, the jackpot has jumped through 28 straight rollovers, inching higher every few days.
Meanwhile, Mega Millions made its own headlines when a Georgia ticket hit $980 million on Nov. 14 — just shy of the $1 billion mark. That prize has since reset to $50 million for Tuesday’s drawing.
Saturday’s Powerball drawing didn’t crown a jackpot winner, but it wasn’t silent either.
Big hits included:
-
$2 million win in Puerto Rico (Match 5 + Power Play)
-
Three $1 million winners in Arizona and California
If you’re keeping track, here’s a quick snapshot of the recent jackpot climb:
-
Nov. 15: $546M
-
Nov. 12: $512M
-
Nov. 10: $490M
-
Nov. 8: $467M
-
(…and so on, all the way back to Sept. 8’s $20M reset)
Powerball draws every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 11 p.m. ET. Odds to hit the jackpot? 1 in 292.2 million — the same whether the prize is $20 million or over $2 billion.
Buying a ticket in Florida? Winners have 180 days to claim prizes and 60 days to choose the cash option. Florida doesn’t allow full anonymity, but jackpot winners get a 90-day privacy window.
With holidays around the corner, a giant win would hit at the perfect time. Good luck — and check those numbers!
