A soccer coach from Western Massachusetts just hit a life-changing win, scoring a $1 million lottery prize—and he already knows exactly where some of that money is going.
Gregory Kolodziey of Ludlow is celebrating after winning big on the “$1,000,000 Ultimate 7” scratch ticket. His ticket turned out to be the fifth and final $1 million top prize still available in the game, making the moment even more special.
He stepped forward with his winning ticket on Friday and chose the cash option, taking home a one-time payout of about $650,000 before taxes.
Kolodziey purchased the lucky ticket at Liquor Mart in Chicopee—and that store also gets a nice bonus: $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.
What makes this win even better:
- 🎉 $1 million top prize hit—final one in the game
- 💰 Took the cash option: about $650,000 before taxes
- ⚽ Winner is a local soccer coach with a community focus
- 👏 Plans to support youth sports programs in his hometown
Beyond the excitement of the win, Kolodziey says the moment is about giving back. He plans to use part of his winnings to help support youth sports programs, continuing his connection to the game he already coaches and loves.
