A 36-year-old South Carolina man has been arrested after allegedly stealing lottery scratch-off tickets during a job interview at a gas station and trying to cash in the stolen tickets at nearby stores.

Antonio Levon Ricardo Stewart is accused of taking a pack of South Carolina Education Lottery scratch-off tickets from a Murphy USA location in Florence on May 6, 2025. According to arrest documents, surveillance footage reportedly captured the alleged theft.

Authorities say Stewart later visited three stores in the Florence area to redeem tickets from the stolen pack. He allegedly managed to cash in one ticket for a $5 prize.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) announced that Stewart was arrested on August 25, more than a year after the alleged incident. A warrant had reportedly been issued for his arrest later in May 2025.

Stewart faces three charges related to intent to defraud and counterfeit game tickets. Following his arrest, he was taken to the Florence County Detention Center.
