A Springfield woman is celebrating a $15 million lottery win after landing the top prize in a Massachusetts State Lottery scratch ticket game.
Lori Morales won the grand prize on the “$15,000,000 Magnificent Millions” scratch ticket. Instead of taking the prize as an annuity, she selected the cash option and received a one-time payment of $9.75 million before taxes.
Morales said she plans to put her unexpected fortune toward helping her family and buying a new home.
Her winning ticket was purchased at Cumberland Farms at 1061 Memorial Drive in Chicopee. The retailer will also get a $50,000 bonus for selling the lucky ticket.
There’s still plenty of excitement left in the game. According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, two $15 million top prizes remain unclaimed in the “Magnificent Millions” scratch game.
