Staten Island Woman Hits $1M Jackpot on NY Lottery Scratch-Off

Written by Published

A Staten Island resident just scored the kind of win most of us daydream about.

Mary Ann Monaco recently claimed a $1 million top prize from the New York Lottery’s $1,000,000 Gold scratch-off game. Instead of annual payments, she chose a one-time lump sum of $410,202 after taxes.

The lucky ticket came from Card Corner II at 655 Rossville Ave. in Rossville — a stop that might see a few more hopeful players now.

A couple of exciting notes:

  • Two more $1 million top prizes are still out there on the $1,000,000 Gold game.

  • The New York Lottery continues to bring in big numbers, with scratch-off sales reaching over $4.3 billion for fiscal year 2024–2025.

  • Schools across the five boroughs benefited too, receiving more than $1.4 billion in Lottery Aid to Education during that same time.

Big win for Mary Ann — and a big win for New York’s schools, too.
