The biggest Texas jackpot ever? A jaw-dropping $410 million, claimed by a Fredericksburg lottery trust on Oct. 10, 2025. Coming in close behind, a Sugar Land player grabbed $409 million just a year earlier.
While these wins are massive, they still pale in comparison to the U.S. record Powerball jackpot — a mind-blowing $2.04 billion scored in California in November 2022. That’s roughly five times Texas’s biggest payout.
And it’s not just Texans striking gold. Since the lottery began, winners from 38 states have claimed at least $100,000 in Texas games — including over 7,500 local players. Neighboring Oklahoma tops the list with 24 six-figure winners, followed by Louisiana with 17. Even beyond U.S. borders, players from Mexico (12), Canada (2), China (1), and the Netherlands (1) have all hit big in the Lone Star State.
