Trump Warns Hamas: Release Hostages or Face Severe Consequences

The situation in Gaza remains tense as Hamas previously declared it would not be releasing any hostages on Saturday, a direct violation of the existing hostage-ceasefire agreement. The group alleged that Israel had breached the deal, prompting their refusal to comply. However, despite this claim, reports suggest that at least three hostages—Sagui Dekel Chen, Alexander Sasha Troufanov, and Iair Horn—are expected to be released on Saturday.

Trump’s Stern Warning to Hamas

Former US President Donald Trump weighed in on the escalating crisis, making it clear that he was ready to take a firm stance. Speaking on Friday, Trump issued a stark warning to Hamas, emphasizing that if all hostages were not released by 12 p.m. on Saturday, the ceasefire should be scrapped entirely.

“If all the Gaza hostages aren’t returned by Saturday at 12 p.m., I would say cancel the ceasefire. Let all hell break loose; Israel can override it,” Trump stated. He stressed that the release should not happen in small numbers, adding, “All of them, not in drips and drabs, not two and one and three and four and two.”

His remarks underscored his belief that Israel should have full control over its response if Hamas failed to uphold its end of the deal. “As far as I’m concerned, I would say cancel it, and all bets are off,” Trump declared, indicating his support for Israel’s decision should they choose to act aggressively in response.

Rising Tensions Amid a Fragile Ceasefire

The ceasefire in Gaza has been hanging by a thread, with both sides accusing each other of violating the agreement. This latest development has only added to the uncertainty, as Hamas’s refusal to release hostages challenges the fragile truce. The situation remains fluid, and global leaders continue to monitor whether Hamas will stick to its initial threat or follow through with the anticipated release of the hostages.

While international efforts have been underway to maintain peace, the looming possibility of renewed violence casts a shadow over the region. With Trump’s statements adding more pressure, all eyes are now on whether Hamas will comply before the deadline or risk a severe escalation in hostilities.
